Cryptopia has organized groups bound by similar beliefs and goals. There are four main factions: Industrial, Eco, Tech, and Traditional. For each faction, there is a subgroup of Pirates and Bounty Hunters.

Key Aspects

Every faction has different priorities regarding Climate, Profit, Production, Science, and Cooperation, often creating conflicts of interest. The strongest opposing views are between the Eco and the Industrial factions and between the Tech and the Traditional factions. Nevertheless, there can be instances where factions agree and even cooperate.

Various factors influence the potential for profit and the strategic choices players make. From the direct impact of the climate on agricultural and industrial outputs to the nuances of cooperation between the factions, players must navigate the landscape of the following factors:

• Climate — affects faction strategies for agriculture, architecture, industry, and more. The climate can directly affect the output of many types of buildings. For example, solar panels (Eco) give less electricity if there is too much air pollution, while fossil fuel power plants (Industrial) are not affected by it.
• Profit — represents the capacity to earn and keep Cryptopia tokens (TOS). While appealing, it is only one of several factors to consider. The climate, development, social change, and even one’s own success can affect profits.
• Production — represents the priority given to generating products, services, and electricity. Although production often goes hand in hand with profit, this is not always the case.
• Science — represents the priority given to the research and development of new technologies and solutions.
• Cooperation — represents the willingness to work with other factions. This is the most difficult factor as the differences between factions can be enormous. The factions must find a balance between the benefits of cooperation and standing for their own beliefs.

Voting

Voting is a vital mechanism where citizens determine Cryptopia’s present and future.

• A universal right. All Cryptopians can participate in the decision-making process.
• Varied voting systems among each faction. Factions have different mechanisms for gaining voting rights and power, ensuring a diverse and engaging governance system.

Leader

As a faction member, you can discuss ideas and action steps with your fellow members on your forums. You may also elect a Faction Leader who serves as the organization’s representative. The Faction Leader’s responsibilities include moderating their faction forum and deciding which new proposals will go up for a vote. These responsibilities may be expanded in the future.

Advisors

Each faction has an advisor to guide players through the game's mechanics and narrative. These advisors educate and inform decision-making based on faction strengths and weaknesses, ensuring players align with their faction's vision and values.
