    The Rise of Cryptopia

Introduction

Cryptopia is a strategic Web3 gameverse with RPG elements, based entirely on the blockchain. The gameplay combines elements of strategic games, including exploration, expansion, and exploitation. Players have the option to choose from two distinct gameplay styles: being a Tycoon or an Adventurer.

As a Tycoon, participants can build a DeFi empire. This entails owning land, constructing buildings, initiating businesses, and profiting from sales. On the other hand, choosing the Adventurer path allows players to embark on quests, build their careers, level up, achieve the Grandmaster level, and craft unique items.

Players can also craft NFT items, and the more resources they amass, the more superior NFTs they can create. Companions or pets can be owned as well to enhance player stats and to engage in Arena battles. Furthermore, upgrading NFT collections leads to enhanced benefits for characters.

Cryptopia also ensures inclusivity; players can earn without obtaining NFTs. Being free to play, it welcomes everyone to experience its offerings.

Lost Whitepaper

Cryptopia was a vision conceived by the mysterious writer of a long-lost white paper. To learn the full contents of the second Satoshi document, go to our interactive whitepaper.

Timeline of events

  • 1871-1970s: The world operated under a stable gold-backed monetary system
  • 1971: President Nixon abandoned the gold standard for the fiat currency.
  • 2000s: Governments manipulated currency values for political and economic gain.
    • The weaknesses of fiat currency made the world vulnerable to economic collapse. It would take only one trigger, like climate change, to cause widespread hunger, chaos, and loss of income.
  • 2005: The Kyoto Protocol was enforced to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
    • The Kyoto failed to achieve significant results; Canada, Russia, Japan, and the United States either withdrew or refused to ratify it.
  • 2008: Satoshi Nakamoto's white paper proposed the creation of cryptocurrencies.
  • 2009: Bitcoin was founded.
  • 2020 onwards: Second white paper is discovered, leading to the creation of Cryptopia.

The Rise of Cryptopia

Cryptopia was envisioned as a reboot of society. Being free from foreign influence and traditional currencies, Cryptopia would establish a decentralized government built completely on the blockchain, with the hope that it would serve as an example that all nations could follow.

As people flocked to Cryptopia, however, they clashed on how the new society should move forward. This led to the rise of four competing factions: Tech, Traditional, Industrial, and Eco.

Rise of the faction

  • The Industrial faction — believes Cryptopia’s purpose is to create great wealth and become an economic power. They strive to create an environment for groundbreaking ventures can do business without limiting laws and customs.

  • The Eco faction — sees Cryptopia as an opportunity for environmental preservation and sustainable living. They strongly oppose the use of fossil fuels and advocate for clean energy.

  • The Tech faction — advocates for technology-based policies to create a futuristic society. They led the way in constructing its digital infrastructure, internet backbone, and DeFi networks.

  • The Traditional faction — believes in a society for the people and decisions made through consensus. They prioritize free education, improved voting systems, workers' unions, citizens' rights, and protecting jobs from the perils of AI.
