The world of Cryptopia contains a vast amount of resources waiting to be owned, created, and traded with—they range from raw materials like sand, coal, and stone, to manufactured ones like plastics and steel. There are two major types of resources: Raw and Manufactured. Raw resources are also classified as Finite and Infinite.
Cryptopia’s resources take the form of tokens or digital assets. They are backed by the blockchain, and any resources owned by a player are kept in their wallet just like any other cryptocurrency.
Being assets, resources may be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged, and used up during crafting, consumption, or construction. They can also be mined from tiles.
Extracting Resources
A player can obtain resources from tiles. Some resources, like fruit and meat, can be harvested without needing any tools. Others that are found on the surface of the map, like stone and wood, may require tools. Finally, resources that are difficult to reach, like coal and oil, need mines or rigs to be built first to extract them. In these cases, it is equally important that the players mining these resources must also have the relevant skills or specialisations to operate the required buildings and tools. For example, to operate a coal mining facility, you need mine workers.
Scarcity
Basic resources like food are unlimited and respawn on tiles for players to harvest as needed. Other resources, like copper and gold, are limited to specific amounts across the game world. As such, they go up in value the scarcer they become. The extraction time for each kind of resource depends on their type; the more difficult to extract a resource, the longer it takes to do so. Extraction time also increases as the supply of that resource diminishes, also causing its value to rise.
