Story

With Cryptopia on the rise, the Serpentine has stopped at nothing to try to dismantle its very existence, believing that Cryptopia’s fragile, and manufactured existence has ruined marine life in the area and may encourage copycats. They aim to steal as much wealth from Cryptopia as possible to make living there unviable. With the wealth they have accumulated, the Serpentine would then proceed to heal the environment in whatever way they deem fit.

The Serpentine take matters into their own hands to halt pollution and climate change. They see humans as the source of such problems, in particular, those who generated wealth from pollutive sources and industries. Unlike the Earth Disciples, the Serpentine have opted for the more direct approach, ranging from stealing equipment, resources, and food to attacking trade routes along Cryptopia. They hope to eventually destroy the nation-state itself.

Milandu Adamu is the group’s spokesperson and leader. Mila grew up wanting to be a marine biologist, fascinated as she was with how nature and ecosystems work. She is hands-on with her approach to life, volunteering in wildlife reservations and tree planting rehabilitations. When she saw her hometown shores filled with trash and dead wildlife, she realized that what she was then doing isn’t enough she participated in environmental activism.

Once a former Earth’s Disciples, Mila believed that the group’s actions were impactful enough to see the changes in the environment in her lifetime. She met and fell in love with the group’s founder, John Smith, who was also smitten with her. They shared a long-term relationship for a while. She believed that with John leading the cause, they would be an unstoppable couple. She would interfere with the poachers and polluters in the fields, while John Smith handles the legal side and find a way to settle things in court for the environment and its residents benefit.

However, as time passed, she feels that nothing has changed as the same people come back to pollute and pillage what’s left of the sea and the lands. It was then she realized that in her eyes, John lacked with his efforts and had no will to punish offenders. With a heavy heart, she and John Smith parted ways and she left the Earth’s Disciples. From there, she took a few members who believed in her cause and established the Serpentine. Aiming to restore Earth’s lost glory, they swore to be the venom of this highly polluting and wasteful society.

While Mila collaborates with pirates of different factions, their ties and agreements are only temporary for, by the end of the day, the human world is only fleeting. They hope that with their actions, humans will one day cease pollutive activity and return to Mother Earth’s arms. Whether they like it to not.
