Litepaper
Founding of Cryptopia
It began with a whitepaper, a document no one ever even knew existed until it was discovered seemingly by accident. Speculation was rife about who wrote it (though it was obvious to me from the start) but more important than the writer's identity were the ideas within the paper-the dream of a society living and thriving entirely on blockchain technology. A city where scientific and technological advancements reign supreme.
Since I was a boy, I believed that technology is humanity's greatest, most important tool for survival and improvement. Yet despite this, I found my research limited at every turn by government agencies and a fickle public who only wanted the kind of science that supported their pernicious agendas. I eventually formed a group of like-minded individuals who are at the forefront of their fields: scien- tists, researchers, and engineers who could not find funding for their projects due to lack of or being counter to government interest. Together, we dreamed of a world where science would be given the freedom to grow.
Cryptopia gave us that hope. The idea of a nation-state running on the blockchain was nothing less than a dream come true. When the call sounded for citizens to meet on the newly-constructed sea-steading island, we Technocrats traveled there at once. I met with three other civic and industry leaders,
and together we came to an agreement: we would build a new nation founded completely on the blockchain, free from the heavy hand of governments and central banks. With it, we would create a world where our citizens could enjoy freedom, security, economic prosperity, and a chance to chart their own futures.
At first, things went well. Construction of the city began in earnest and more citizens joined our ranks. But as the population grew, the other leaders started pushing agendas they had never announced before. While I believed that Cryptopia must support science to fully achieve its greatest potential, it became clear that my fellow leaders did not share my vision.
Rise of the Factions
I met with the leaders several times more to try and salvage our working relationship. Unfortunately, these meetings only deepened the divide between us. In particular, Jane Brown of the ironical- ly-named Unifiers proved herself to be a real thorn, pandering to the masses and telling them anything they want to hear to gather their support, without having any true direction or core values of her own.
The Technocrats created the foundation that Cryptopia stands on. The Inheritors may have funded its ventures, and the Unifiers and the Disciples fed its citizens' minds with lofty ideas, but it was the efforts of the Technocrats that created the city's digital infrastructure, its de-fi networks, and its internet backbone. Cryptopia is the city of the future thanks to its technology. To our work.
It became clear to me that if Cryptopia was to achieve its bright future, we Technocrats needed to stand on our own.
Our Goals
Our objective remained the same: turn Cryptopia into the technologically-advanced society Satoshi envisioned it to be, a prosperous city where everyone lives at the highest possible standard of living. Our strategy is two-fold: first, establish an automated society where all menial jobs are handled by robots and Al. Second, use scientific methods to develop an enhanced populace where everyone is healthy, highly educated, and living their highest potential.
The reason for the first goal is simple-life in a highly-advanced society cannot occur when the majority of the population is forced to grind away in low-paying, high-stress, menial labor. By automating such jobs, we can free up people to work on jobs that provide stimulating challenges and higher pay.
Of course, such occupations would require a population of experts, highly-skilled and educated. To this end, population control and genetic sciences can help. All citizens will be provided free consulta- tion with specialists who will outline their genetic information. This will allow them to identify and hopefully remove any genetic disorders that they may pass on to their offspring. It will also help them make informed choices on whom they should start a family with.
We understand that the average citizen may have reservations about altering their genetic code, but we have a means of proving its efficacy. We have created genetically enhanced creatures for citizens to keep as pets. These companions generate pheromones that can enhance their owner's mental faculties, allowing them, for instance, to quickly spot opportunities, and to say the right thing at the right time. I believe our success with these genetically-al- tered companions will go a long way in convincing citizens that a genetically-enhanced population is the way to go.
Family planning centers will maintain Cryptopia's optimal population size through health counseling and free birth control methods. Couples intending to have children will be screened to ensure they have adequate means to provide for their children. At the same time, free education will be provided to all to ensure that our children will grow into productive citizens and potential leaders of Cryptopia. All of these methods are aimed at eradicating ignorance and poverty, while creating a population of experts that will build our future.
On Energy usage
The Technocrats will remain agnostic about our source of energy. Nuclear, solar, or fossil fuels will suffice so long enough power is generated to fuel our economic activities and our R&D. With enough time and research, we will soon produce cold fusion reactors to meet all energy needs.
The True Future State
I have labored to make the other faction leaders see my vision, but they are all simply too blinded by their own ideas of how the city should be. The Unifiers, in particular, care only about giving everyone the freedom to behave as they please, even if that behavior will ruin our future.
We know all too well what happens when science and technology fall under the whims of the populist state. Cryptopia must be free of that yoke. We aim to give the city the greatest technological advance- ments ever seen, creating a nation-state one could truly be proud to be part of.

The Technocrats have the most futuristic and analytical perspective of Cryptopia, and aim to create self-sustaining industries running on technology. They partially consider the affect its output will have on climate, however if production and profits outweigh the environmental impacts, then the CO2 emissions won’t be a barrier in advancing society.
