Fungible and Non-Fungible Assets

Cryptopia features two categories of tokens to represent its assets: fungible and non-fungible. Fungible tokens, including ERC-20 tokens like TOS, gold, oil, electricity, and various resources, can be freely exchanged within the Swap Marketplace at any time. On the other hand, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are bought and sold exclusively within the NFT Marketplace, offering unique and distinct value in the Cryptopia ecosystem.

Swap Marketplace

This marketplace is for trading fungible tokens. The market keeps track of how much all types of assets are worth in TOS, based on the supply and demand for them. It then creates a ‘conversion rate’ for items you want to swap.

Example:

You want to swap iron ore for glass. The market first checks the TOS price for iron ore and the TOS price for glass. It then informs you how much TOS you'll get for the trade.

• No risk for unfair trading since all items are priced in TOS.
• No gas fees
• No frontrunning (i.e. people who ‘jump the line’ by offering a higher price for an item).
• All swaps are first-come, first-serve basis.
• You can also swap ETH for TOS.

NFT Marketplace

The NFT Marketplace in Cryptopia serves as a hub for the trade of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), where players can put their NFTs up for sale. It provides users with the opportunity to trade rare and exclusive collectibles.

• The seller can choose between three pricing options: a ‘regular’ auction, a fixed price, or a Dutch auction.
• Bids can be placed in TOS or ETH.
• The sale will only take place if the seller agrees with the offered price.
• You can keep using the assets you’re selling in the game while waiting for the right buyer.

Theoretically, you can also put NFTs from outside Crytopia for sale as well.
