Buildings are a type of asset that may be constructed on a land tile. Ranging from humble homes to towering skyscrapers, buildings provide much-needed products, services, and living space to Cryptopia’s citizens.
To construct a building, a citizen chooses a tile where the building will be placed. They must obtain a title deed for the tile and gather the building’s required resources and workers. Once all these requirements are met, construction may begin. Production of goods and services may start once the building is completed.
With proper planning and maintenance, buildings may become an excellent source of income and value over time.
Building Types
As mentioned earlier, buildings are classified according to the role they play. Some, like houses and villas, provide living space and stand as a testament to a player’s social status. Others, like Oil Platforms and Electronics Factory, generate products that may be sold on the market.
There are four building types classified into four categories:
Housing
- House
- Villa
- Condominium
Business
- Skyscraper
- Real Estate Agency
- Staking Facility (POS)
- Mining Facility (POW)
Industry
- Warehouse
- Metal Factory
- Glass Factory
- Plastic Factory
- Electronics Factory
- Advanced Electronics Factory
- Concrete Factory
- Mine
- Seaweed Plantation
- Oil Platform
- Shipyard
- Marina
Power Stations
- Solar Farm
- Wind Farm
- Tidal Turbine
- Biomass Power Plant
- Coal Power Plant
- Oil-Fired Power Plant
- Nuclear Power Plant
- Fusion Power Plant
Construction Requirements
Buildings are long-term and labour-intensive investments that need proper planning and the required resources to complete. Here the materials and resources needed to construct one:
Title Deed - an NFT that represents legal ownership of the land tile where the building will be constructed. Title deeds may be purchased from the Marketplace, rewarded from a successful quest, or obtained through trade with another player.
To construct a building on a tile, the player must be one of the following:
- The tile’s owner.
- A co-owner of the tile. In this case, all co-owners must vote on whether to allow construction to proceed.
- A member of a DAO that owns the tile. The decision to build will be made based on that DAO’s specific decision-making process.
Blueprint - an NFT that provides the technical specifications and requirements of the building to be constructed. Like the Title Deed, they may be obtained from the Marketplace, through trade, or as a quest reward. Once used, the blueprint is burned and cannot be used again. There are two kinds of blueprints. Regular blueprints are for constructing basic versions of buildings and will always be for sale in the Marketplace. Special blueprints, on the other hand, allow players to construct enhanced versions of buildings and can only be obtained through trade or as quest rewards.
Resources - these are the material ingredients needed to construct the building. They may include materials such as concrete, steel, glass, and so on. This information is listed in the blueprint.
Labor - this refers to the human resource. Players must hire Adventurers with the requisite skills for the building they wish to construct. This information is found in the blueprint.
Upgrading Buildings
Being investments, buildings can be improved to increase their productivity. For example, a building’s storage space may be increased to a higher capacity, allowing it to store more materials and products. Meanwhile, improving a building’s efficiency will raise its output.
Upgrading a building is one way to improve it. Buildings begin at Level 1 and can be later upgraded to Levels 2 and 3. Upgrading will raise a building’s productivity, storage space, and number of module slots. However, it will require a new investment of resources.
Level 2 Required Materials
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Copper
- Concrete
- Glass
Level 3 Required Materials
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Gold
- Concrete
- Glass
Another way to improve a building is to install modules to raise its stats. Each type of module has a specific benefit such as additional storage space or faster production. Given that a building has a limited number of module slots, it is imperative to plan on
